About the Capital Region

The Capital Region - a great place to visit, a great place to live ... and a great place to do business! It encompasses the National Capital, Canberra, and a surrounding region with significant natural, economic and social assets.

The region has a sound and growing economic base, with the economy centred on government and tertiary services in Canberra, and in rural industries, tourism, technology and manufacturing in the remainder of the region.

The region's growing population, developing industry base, high skills levels and enviable lifestyle advantages are creating new opportunities for business. The region's excellent health and education facilities, and boundless recreation opportunities, have encouraged many businesses to expand or relocate to the region.
